I have booked the Kennedy Mall in Dubuque for a
three day book signing; March 16th, 17th and 18th. And I landed the most perfect spot of all; right outside of Books-A-Million, near the food court and right by the cookie stand and Betty Jane Candy. If nothing else, I will sit there for three days and eat myself to death! I’m still working on the hand-made invitations and I will get them in the mail as soon as I can. If I
don’t already have your address, save me some trouble and send it to me in a PM or to: email@example.com.
Yesterday we were on the topic of television shows. Hoarding and Animal Hoarders are two more shows that I love. When I first started watching the programs I was appalled by the sight of the homes but now it seems to take more to disgust me. Last night there were some dead and rotting rats in a
woman’s home and it really didn’t seem like that big of a deal to me. I’m getting desensitized; it now takes filthier homes and crazier people to impress me. But one thing hasn’t changed, I still feel like cleaning my house every time I watch it.
It’s beneficial for our children to watch this program as well. When I was young I can remember my mother saying things about my room looking like a pig sty or like a tornado went through it. I tell my kids that I’m going to call up the producers of A&E to do a shoot in their rooms if they don’t clean it up. Storage Wars, My Six-Hundred Pound Life, Pawn Stars and American Idol are other favorites of mine. What are your favorite shows?
In the news lately there has been a lot on transgender kids and the new puberty-blocking drugs that are being administered by doctors. One child is an eight year old female who believes she is a boy in a girl’s body. The parents support her ideas and along with her doctors have decided it would be best to slow down puberty. Why is this legal? Should doctors
and parents have the right to do something so dramatic and drastic to a small child? I don’t think so. When we are born, our body is all we have. “You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit.” Just because an 18 month old child runs around saying they are a boy when they are a girl is meaningless. Unless of course the parents make an issue out of it which I believe is why transgender kids are even in our vocabulary.
