1. Can a plum skip?
The correct answer is no but I beg to differ. If you slice it up and have good wrist action, I’m sure you could skip a plum across a body of water.
2. Will a skunk sip gas?
The correct answer is no but again I disagree. How do we know what’s going through a skunk’s mind at the precise time he finds some gas? Maybe he likes the smell and just wants a little sip. Hell maybe skunks sip gas every opportunity they get – how would anyone know? Did someone offer a skunk a sip of gas and he refused?
3. Can you slap a big bug?
The correct answer is yes. But again this just isn’t right. You couldn’t slap a big bug unless you had courage. Anyone with a bug phobia certainly could not slap a big bug. These questions need to be better explained. Example: If you didn’t have a bug phobia or a husband and you did have courage could you slap a big bug? That’s more like it.
4. Can you skip up a hill?
The correct answer is yes. But I think it would all depend on what shoes you were wearing and how steep the hill was. If you were wearing flip-flops, pumps or work boots I think you would have a difficult time with this.
5. Can you slip in a tub?
The correct answer is yes but realistically I’m sure there are tubs that you couldn’t slip in. What if the tub was covered with those sticky things that creation friction? I bet then you couldn’t slip. Or what if you only had a shower at your house, then you couldn’t slip in a tub because you wouldn’t have one to slip in.
6. Can a plum kick a man?
The correct answer is no but if a man were dressed in a plum costume he could certainly kick another man. Halloween is coming up, this just might happen.
Anyway, I have a difficult time helping him with his homework
because we always go down the wrong path and I’m sure I put way too many ideas into his head. The kid has enough issues as it is. Yesterday at school the kids made “Scare Spray.” Paper rolled up and designed to look like a spray can. The kids were instructed to write on the cans what they were afraid of and were then told to use the scare spray to help combat their fears by “spraying” at them with the fake cans. Most first graders are afraid of the dark, bugs, scary movies and so on. But not my kid, here are the two things he listed that he’s afraid of:
1. Watching girls get their ears pierced at Claire’s.
2. Wild pigs.
It looks like I have a long road ahead of me.
