got the bill from TJ’s foot surgery. Then the air conditioner stopped working AGAIN and when the guy came to fix it he said our wiring was bad so I had to call an electrician. Then our fridge started acting up. Could it get any worse? Never EVER, ask yourself that question.
Next it was a trip to the DMV to pay tax on a vehicle we sold. After waiting in line (for eternity) I was told the computers were down and that I would have to come back some other time. Really?! I suggested the lady take my money and write my information down on paper. She was
appalled at the suggestion. “The computers are down STATE WIDE!” I really didn’t give a shit, I just knew I didn’t want to come back – ever!
Nine, smug, conceited, snot-faced bitches sat at the long counter, enjoying turning each customer away. “There’s nothing we can
do, its policy.” They smiled as they shrugged their shoulders. They don’t smile on a normal day, that’s how I know they were having fun with it. I walked away with my head down, totally defeated. I was beat-down once again by the DMV. I don’t believe I’ve EVER had a good experience at ANY DMV in ANY state and I’ve lived in plenty.
I forgot to mention that the kids were with me. Oh joy. By the time we got to the car I was fuming again and blew a gasket. The kids got an ear-full and a few choice words about my thoughts on the DMV.
As luck would have it, Mac decided she wanted to talk to Grandma that night and went in her room and shut the door. Next thing I know it she’s handing me the phone, wearing the same smug smile as the ladies from the DMV. I then got another beat-down, this time from my Mother for my rant in front of the kids about the DMV. My own daughter ratted me out to my Mother!
The next day HAD to be better, right? Wrong! I took Will to the walk-in clinic today. This was our third trip in six-weeks. First it was strep-throat, then an ear-infection and now THIS. After waiting in line, filling out paperwork and then waiting some more we were escorted into an
exam room and then we waited some more. Finally we were told the doctor didn’t show up. The nurse claimed he was double booked and was at a different clinic. Really?! Shit like this only happens to me. She said they would call when they found a replacement. In the meantime poor Will was on the verge of crying – he REALLY needed a doctor.
Three hours later they called and told us to come back in. We waited some more and finally a doctor stepped into the room. Will looked at me wide-eyed when he saw it was a female. I assured him that the
female doctor had seen things like this before and that she would know what to do. After looking at his arms, legs and face she asked him to drop his drawers. He was humiliated but he did it. It was then that the doctor confirmed that poor Will has poison ivy…….on his private parts!
They handed me the prescription and a $5.00 gift card for the scheduling issues. The gift card made me smile at least. Did they really think five-bucks was going to make me happy? I guess it was more than I got from the DMV.
Steroids, oatmeal baths and Caladryl Clear were prescribed. He is in total and complete agony. I feel so bad for him.
Tomorrow has to be a better day, doesn’t it? (Don’t answer that.)
