There’s a guy in the news who works for Target that is upset because he has been scheduled to work at midnight on Thanksgiving. ( http://www.businessweek.com/news/2011-11-16/target-employee-starts-petition-protesting-thanksgiving-hours.html) His position is parking
attendant. What in the hell is a Target parking lot attendant? I think he’s just a glorified cart boy. But that part really doesn’t matter, what does matter is
that this poor guy will get to eat a meal on Thanksgiving Day with his family but then will have to take a nap so he can go to work at night. Do you see a problem with that?!
Many American’s have no jobs right now and some will have nothing to eat on Thanksgiving and this guy thinks it’s OK to complain about a slight adjustment in hours. Does he really believe that he will change corporate America with his petition? And why is the press covering this, don't they have better things to do? This guy is stupid already and he hasn’t even touched the turkey yet.
Leaf Me Alone
I have no leaf bearing trees in my back yard yet it is covered in leaves. If I’m walking my dog and he takes a dump in a neighbor’s yard I am expected to clean it up. So why doesn’t the same hold true when one of my neighbors trees takes a dump in my yard? It doesn’t seem fair to me.
And then to add insult to injury my city has leaf clean-up day every week and then yard waste clean-up every other week. But for leaf pick up day the leaves have to be raked to the curb and not bagged or in trash cans. Yard waste has to be in containers. You can have leaves and grass mixed for yard waste pick-up but you can’t have grass or anything else mixed with the leaves.
And don’t even get me started on recycling, every week we go through the trouble of sorting out recycling and then the truck comes and dumps it all into the same truck – all mixed up. Why do we have to sort it? Don’t get me wrong, I love that our city has these programs, I just don’t get the difference between yard waste and leaves and I don’t understand why I have to sort the recycling but they mix it up. It pisses me off!
27 Christmas Trees
I heard on the news that Michelle Obama is going to put up 27 Christmas Trees at the White House this year. It will take her staff six full days to complete the decorating. Can you image the cost in just the staff alone? Why couldn’t they put up only a dozen trees or even six and donate the left over time, money and supplies to families that could use a boost this
Christmas? No wonder she got booed at the NASCAR race! They say drunks don't lie and I'm sure the crowd was full of them.
Black Friday Ad’s
Some stores have released their black Friday ads already, you can see them on-line. But now, just when you think you know ALL they have to offer
on the biggest shopping day of the year, they come out with “mystery products” that will not be announced until Black Friday. What a scam.
Stranded Bus Passengers
Also in the news this morning was a story about a Grey Hound bus
driver who left 45 passengers stranded at a gas station in Missouri for eight
hours. http://news.yahoo.com/greyhound-bus-driver-leaves-passengers-stranded-173805552.html. I would never do that to
