Have you heard about Samantha Brick yet? If you haven’t I’m sure you will soon as this woman is on the path to becoming one of the most hated people on the web. She published a column in the Daily Mail on Tuesday that was tilted, "'There are downsides to looking this pretty': Why women hate me for
The article talks about how difficult life is for her because of her beautiful appearance. She’s tall, blonde and slim. Women fear she is going to steal their men but she claims not to be a flirt. She’s never been asked to be a bridesmaid and struggles with relationships that involve women basically because they are all insecure because she’s better looking than they are. She claims anyone that gets angry with what she says is just jealous of her good looks. It gets worse. This woman is 41 and can’t wait for old age to set in.
She’s looking forward to grey hair and wrinkles because she feels it will make her beauty less noticeable.
I saw a picture of Sam online and she’s really not that great looking. I expected her to be drop dead gorgeous but she is average at best. There’s a new Twitter campaign going on right now to take her down a few notches and the 3,000+ comments that people left after they read her article speak for themselves.
But this is a lesson in how stupid, undeserving people become famous and the price they are willing to pay. She’s making plenty on the web hits alone and I’m sure interviews are on the horizon. If she writes a book it will hit the best seller list, not because people like her, because people hate her. Hate sells.
She has now compromised her safety as there are a lot of crazy people in this world who would intentionally do damage to her just to shut her
up. She has compromised her reputation as no one will want to admit knowing her and employers will think she’s crazy. Her odds of having female friends have dwindled. It’s it all worth it Brick? I think not but I will be watching and waiting to see what becomes of this.
They say beauty is only skin deep and that it’s in the eye of the beholder. But what if the beholder is a reflection in the mirror? Does that count? To me she will always just be just another Brick in the wall.
(If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding.)
I wrote an article for Military Money Magazine and they contacted me yesterday for an author bio and picture as they are ready to go to press. I will post a link as soon as one is available and I will also tell you where you can get a printed version. The article I wrote is about an interview I did with a very beautiful, smart, talented, female soldier. Samantha Brick has NOTHING on this person.
Have a super day!
