On Sunday a protest was held in Ashville NC for the second year.
The basis of the protest was that some women believe they should be allowed to go topless in public, gender equality being the reasoning. If a man can take off his shirt in public why can’t a woman? Dozens of topless women showed up for the event and a whopping 2,000 sickos, I mean spectators. One of the protesters said, “A women’s body is beautiful.”
I beg to differ on this one. SOME women have beautiful bodies others have nasty ass bodies and I don’t think it would be a good idea to allow
them to go topless in public. Look at all of the accidents that are happening today because of texting while driving, just think how many accidents would occur if there were topless women all over the streets and highways.
And Wal-Mart is bad enough these days with some pretty scary looking people shopping in the stores. Imagine how much money you’d save on
food because you would be so grossed out you would lose your appetite while shopping. Or imagine being greeted by a saggy old topless woman. I’m sure it would make your wait at the DMV a little more interesting and the PTA meetings a little more fun but come on, is wearing a shirt really so bad?
In some countries going topless is a normal and natural thing, in America it would not work out. In Iowa it would completely eliminate farmer tans for women! Some of the protesters at the rally were men – wearing bras. One young female said she would like to take her shirt off when skateboarding, like the guys do. Does she not realize that she has more to lose than the guys if she crashes and busts a tit? Ouch!
I’m not for gender equality. You can open a door for me, buy me
supper and help carry my groceries and I won’t be offended at all. In return I promise to never take my shirt off in public. My daughter is already embarrassed by a tiny mole in my arm pit. Could you imagine the horror if I picked her up from school topless?! I think that would put her right over the edge.
I don’t think many women realize what the ramifications would be
if we lived in a gender neutral world. For one I know that women police officers do not have the same physical requirements as men vying for the same positions. They have to do less – why, because our bodies are different. If a gender neutral law went into effect we probably wouldn’t have as many females on the police force or they would have to lessen the physical requirement for men.
And what about the lesson we teach our sons about never hitting a
girl? In a gender neutral world that would go right out the window. Sure we might raise some pretty tough little girls but didn’t we put that rule in place because boys tend to be a little stronger and a little more rambunctious?
So come on America, let’s find something worthwhile to protest. If boobs are number one on your list than its time for you to reevaluate your
