It’s not what you know; it’s who you know after all. Yesterday my
dad sent one of his friends to our house to cut up the tree in our yard. In a sense I feel sorry for people who are friends with my dad. Because he does so much for everyone else, they feel obligated to help him when something comes up. The problem with this is that he never personally needs help and if he did he wouldn’t tell anybody about it, that’s just the way he is. But if one of his kids needs help he will accept help on our behalf. So thank you Dad for sending us an angel with a chainsaw!
The man that helped us is a logger so he knows a thing or two
about tree’s and he said that it won’t take much for the rest of the tree to
come down and with the way it’s standing the odds of it falling on our house are pretty good. The rest of the tree is massive; it would cover the majority of our house with little effort. The man said that our kids are even at risk when they are outside playing and that really frightens me.
Talking to the city, the neighbors and insurance agent and figuring out how to get the wood and branches hauled out of here should be interesting tasks.
Salt and Ice Challenge
I’m sure you all remember the cinnamon challenge which was popular for the past few months. People would eat piles of cinnamon and see how long they could go before needing a drink of water. Some of the videos were funny even though the whole idea of it was silly. Well now there’s a new challenge in town and this one can be dangerous.
Take some everyday, average salt and put it somewhere on your
body. Next grab an ice-cube and push down on it. Within a short period of time it will begin burning your arm. The type of burn is similar to frost bite. Once again we have funny, silly videos but of course someone always has to push the envelope. There is a 12-year-old boy in Pittsburgh who burned a massive cross onto his back using this method. The article doesn’t say who helped the boy achieve this unique stardom but it does show a very gory, graphic picture at the end of the article. It will take months for this boy to heal as he has 2nd degree burns. Now if that isn’t rubbing salt into the wound, then I don’t know what is!
If you have teenagers or really stupid husbands, please show this
picture to them so they think twice before doing the salt and ice challenge.
