When I saw the Neurologist on Friday she presented me with my MRI pictures. Times are really changing. She said they have them in their data base and that the disks were mine to keep. What exactly do you do with MRI pictures? Well for me, the first thing I do is post a picture of my brain on my blog so we can end this dispute about me not having one!
When I was in third grade I feel in love with writing and realized it was something I really enjoyed doing. My daughter just happens to be in third grade and she had conferences Thursday night. Unfortunately I was too sick to go but she gave me a mini-conference when she arrived home. There was a pile of awards and notes of achievement, completed assignments and notes from her teachers. But there was one item that she saved for last; she was very excited to show me. She had written a short story. I asked her if it would be OK if I posted it on my blog and she smiled and said I could.
Dogzilla versus Katkong
In the volcano, a cat slumbering heard, “Woof, Woof, Woof!”It was Dogzilla! He was so loud the people of Catagonea fainted. Then he said,“Katkong, come out or else!” Katkong said sweetly, “Dogzilla, I was
taking a cap nap, how rude of you.” “I’m sorry, I never met you, I am so rude,” said Dogzilla. Then Katkong got out her claws and scratched on him "I
heart cats." She laughed so hard she didn’t hear Dogzilla say, “game on little kitten.” He bit her in the foot. She made a scar on his nose. Dogzilla said, “I am sorry for biting you, do you forgive me?” “Yes” said Katkong, “but do you forgive me for scratching you?” “Yes, I forgive you.” “Can we be friends,"they both asked at the same time. Dogzilla said, “yes” and Katkong said, “yes.”
My publisher, Lyle, sent me a teaser picture; a printed copy of my book, lying on his keyboard. He said it was a publisher copy, so that he could look it over one more time before approving it to go off for mass
printing. I wanted that book so bad I offered to sign it for him if he would send it to me. He didn’t fall for it. I think he knew if he sent it to me, he would never see it again. We are only 9 days away from the release date passengers….and I’m really starting to freak out. I’m planning on doing a 3-day book signing event at the Kennedy Mall in Dubuque. As soon as I have dates, you will be the first to know. I will be selling books ($9.99) or if you ordered online you can bring your book to the signing. Three days is a long time,
PLEASE come and hang out with me, I would love it.
To get ready for my book signings I’m in the process of ordering some supplies: a banner, posters, business cards and even a few coffee mugs. I didn’t realize there were so many promotional materials available. It would be easy to go crazy at this stage of the game but for now I’m going to take it slow. You won’t see my face or book cover on a T-shirt just yet! (I’ll wait
until the movie comes out.)
Happy Saturday : )
