Today is the big, grand day that I have been waiting for, book release day. In a sense I’m glad that the Kindle version released early so at least some people have had the opportunity to read my work and so far I haven’t heard anything bad. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy. To hold the finished version in my hands and to trace my finger across my name
will be the ultimate high. I got to Amazon.com everyday just to look at it!
Unfortunately the Daytona was rained out
yesterday, the first time in history. They are planning on running today at 11:00 but the forecast doesn’t look good so the race could be tonight. I hope it is tonight so all the hardworking NASCAR fans will have a chance to see it. Imagine if your favorite NFL team played on a Monday morning wouldn’t that suck?!
With my daughter’s birthday party coming up this weekend I need to buy her a gift. Usually my husband has good ideas but this morning he just shook his head, “she’s a girl now” he said. She has always
been a girl but has not always acted like a girly girl. Lately she has been putting sparkly lotion on her face each morning and gold, sparkly gel in her hair. She has lip gloss collection that she keeps displayed on a table in her room. Our dog Charlie loves to eat lip gloss so it seems I’m always picking up shards of plastic while he walks around with sparkly, red or pink teeth. She is wearing jewelry now and is enjoying shopping and picking out clothes and shoes.
Buying a gift this year will be more difficult than in years past as her tastes have changed. It’s amazing how much a child can change in one year.
There’s a child sized sock lying in the middle of the living room floor. I should leave it and make whoever left it there, pick it up, but it’s driving me crazy, just taunting me. It’s telling me that if I leave it there a neighbor will stop by or someone will stop to visit
and they will see it and they will think poorly of my housekeeping skills. Dirty socks can be such powerful forces. Maybe I’ll see who it belongs to and I’ll place it neatly on their pillow so they get a pleasant surprise when they go to bed tonight. There’s nothing like a dirty sock on your pillow to get your attention.
Happy Monday Passengers!
