On July 21st Toby Keith will be playing at the Great Jones County Fair. We have tickets to this sold out event. Yesterday I found these way cool shirts that T.J. and I will wear to the concert. Believe it or not, they were being sold at the Fareway grocery store. I’m really looking
forward to seeing Mr. Keith in action.
I bought a trailer! And no it’s not a double wide with polyester curtains and a redwood deck, it’s a book trailer! These are the latest and greatest way to advertise books. As soon as it’s posted to You Tube I will provide
the link so you can see it. It also has a voice over. I’m very excited about
this. Special thanks to Don Franklin from Black Moon Publishing for making this happen. And to my fellow authors at Rainstorm Press, YOU CAN afford one of these. http://donfranklin.wordpress.com/black-moon-book-trailers/
We had a bit of excitement yesterday at the local Fareway grocery
store. It was a typical shopping trip where we got what we needed and drove home and then realized we forgot something. We went back to the store and Mac decided she would run in and get what we forgot. During that two-minute time span a physically and mentally disabled gentleman, well known in the community, began beating up his caregiver in the parking lot. Most of the action took place inside the vehicle they were in. Thankfully the staff at Fairway came to the
rescue and called 911.
The checker who rang up Mac’s items told her, “Run to your car as
fast as you can.” Employee’s feared for the safety of all customers as they thought the man may get out of the car. Mac was extremely frightened when she got in the car as she witnessed this man’s actions as she was running. You could clearly hear the screams of the woman being attacked. I contemplated going over to the car to help but by the time I knew what was going on, the car was surrounded by people trying to help. I did my part by getting out of the way and driving home.
I tried to explain to the kids about people with mental disabilities and how sometimes they snap but it was a difficult conversation. I try to keep their lives all rainbows and unicorns but sometimes things like
this pop up and ruin a perfectly good fairytale kind of day.
Here’s to you having a perfectly good fairytale kind of day!
